A weekend of events and activities on the theme of the Hospital in wartime. There will be an exhibition, a history bookstall and a presentation in costume on women and the Great War by renowned performers The History Wardrobe. Five talks will be given on a range of subjects: North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary during the War years and the care of injured patients today; the relationship between the hospital and the people of Hartshill; the Great War poets Wilfred Owen and Seigfried Sassoon; and women in work in 1916. 
There will be a film show of footage from the Great War period, compiled and presented by Professor Ray Johnson of Staffordshire University. Accompanying this he and local actor and drama teacher Romy Cheeseman will read from the work of the Cheadle poet Charles Masefield. The events on Sunday will culminate at 4.00pm with a wreath-laying ceremony in Holy Trinity Churchyard led by the Rector, Reverend Chris Rushton.
